Who we are
HomeownerRateCheck is an online home insurance comparison service. We are not an insurance company, we do not underwrite policies, and we do not guarantee any specific rate or savings. We connect visitors who request a quote with our participating insurance partners, who evaluate that information and may contact you directly with an offer.
Information we collect
When you complete our form we collect the details you provide — information about the property (type, age, size, roof age, estimated value), your current coverage and claims history, personal details (date of birth, marital status, credit range) and contact information (name, address, email, phone). We also automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring URL, generally through cookies and similar technology.
How we use your information
- To match you with insurance carriers and agents able to quote your home;
- To operate, secure and improve the site;
- To communicate with you about your request, including by phone, text and email;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
How your information is shared
The details you submit are shared with our participating insurance partners and, in turn, with the licensed insurance carriers and agents in their network so they can prepare and deliver a quote to you. We do not sell your personal information for money. We may also share information with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, fraud prevention) under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.
Phone & text consent
If you provide a phone number, you consent to be contacted about home insurance offers by call, text (SMS/MMS) or pre-recorded message, including by automatic telephone dialing systems, from HomeownerRateCheck and our participating insurance partners, even if your number is listed on a state, federal or company Do Not Call registry, for the limited purpose of following up on the quote you requested. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any product or service. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.
Your choices
You may opt out of further marketing calls or texts at any time by replying STOP to a text, asking a calling agent to remove you, or emailing support@homeownerratecheck.com. Residents of states with a statutory right to access, correct or delete their personal information — or to opt out of its sale or sharing — may exercise that right by writing to privacy@homeownerratecheck.com; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Retention & deletion
We retain submitted information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described here, meet legal and audit requirements, and resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your record at any time using the contact details above; we will honor valid requests except where we are required or permitted by law to keep the information.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
